Calyxwill
HEALING THE MIND, NURTURING THE SOUL

Hello, I'm Miguel Soltero, licensed clinical social worker and I am the founder of Calyxwill. I was born and raised in Los Angeles and I come from a family that I deeply love. Like a calyx, my journey in this work has been shaped by life, not just by clinical training and education. My path has included both challenges and lessons that have taught me acceptance, commitment, growth, resilience and the value of understanding myself and the will to heal and continue to move on. I developed Calyxwill from the deep belief that we have the capacity to give birth to both external and inner growth and blossom at a rate that feels organically real and meaningful contrary to our limiting beliefs, history, and emotional strain.
For the past 12 years, I have worked in multiple settings including community social work, clinical counseling and case management, program management, field supervision, emergency medicine and medical social work. I am the first in my family to graduate from college and to build my own therapy practice, also drawing from my own experiences with sobriety and trauma recovery. My personal and professional experiences shape how I show up for others in the present day.
Therapy with me is collaborative, grounded, and real. I focus on helping people explore the parts of themselves they carry within quietly and at times loudly, such as grief, chronic stress, pain and trauma, and in combination. Over the years, I've supported young and older adults, teens, and children living with grief, anxiety, trauma, difficult relationships, and the emotional work of coping with challenges and understanding yourself.
In addition to therapy, I offer clinical supervision and my aim is to provide a space to foster guidance and perspective in different ways. In the coming months, I expect to complete EMDR training (2026–2027), augmenting the tools I can bring to the work I do.

AUTHENTIC FINE COPPER ENGRAVING from the 1700s including the anatomical structure of a crocus, specifically its calyx.
The common names "autumn crocus", "meadow saffron" and "naked lady" may be applied to the whole genus or to many of its species; they refer to the "naked" crocus-like flowers that appear in late summer or autumn, long before the strap-like foliage which appears in spring.
Taken from "Eléments de botanique - Méthode pour comprendre les plantes", Joseph Pitton de Tournefort (1656-1708), french botanist explorer, a botany classification expert.
Drawing by Claude Aubriet, the painter of the Jardin du Roi.
Printed in 1797 at Pierre Bernuset, Lyon, from the original copper plaques of the first latine edition (1700-1703).
